having started the mk11 victory, and the anchor come early in the build I thought this little tutorial would be helpful to the new builders coming on line.

this first pic clearly shows the mould lines along the shaft and on the blades,so the first part of this assembly is to remove them with a small file.

the next job is to paint on the metal primer.

whilst that is drying I made a start on the wooden shaft by filing slots in the centre of both pieces.

I then sanded and glued together the 2 halves.

next job was to bind the wood,I used copper tape, drill and brass pinned the stock and started to make the anchor ring.the one supplied is to small, scale wise.I wrapped 1mm. brass wire and wrapped it round my craft knife(16mm.dia.)then cut in the centre of the cross over.

next, binding of the ring which is call the "Puddening" you use any thread ,when finished paint it black.

that's it folks, good luck and enjoy, this is my take on this subject, feel free to do your own thing, and please comment if you think this was useful. karl...........BigGrin

Karl

Many thanks for a very informative tutorial.

Like your use of the copper tape rather than the thread bindings in the magazine build.

Kind regards

Tony

Karl

I (as you all can see) am not a big poster but since the start of the victory build I have always been very impressed by your posts.

I think it's one of the reasons I have been so taken with this forum. For various reasons my building has not gone as planned but what has really kept me motivated are your posts in particular.

I don't know how you manage to accomplish so much in the limited time we seem to have but as ever very impressed by all your posts and builds - hope you continue to educate and entertain us all the way through the SOS build.

Kind regards

Tony

thank you tony, for those kind words,it's these post that motivate me also, although I put up a lot of pics,I don't get much feedback,I enjoy what I do,as in the past I have passed on my experiences, with some negative results.I must stress that the way I do things is my way of going about it,and I like to pass on tips as I go,I am still learning like airbrushing ect.and will write more as I go,there's a lot of new builder coming on here so it important to give them confidence with there build, and see it through to the end,so if any of you get stuck,SHOUT we are here for you. karl....<----------bit of a windbag.Blink

Karl, I am very surprised to read your comment regarding receiving negative feedback for your pics, posts and tips.... Please do keep them coming, they are truly an inspiration to all us newbies as to what is possible... Without modellers like you, we would be left floundering in the dark and would probably end up giving up in the end..... I fully enjoy following and trying to absorb all the advice you give, please don't stop.... I too can be a bit of a windbag....LOL LOL LOL
