Hi, new to this modelling business but enthusiastic about building the Sovereign. Issue 5 covers the building of a Display Stand. It does so by suggesting that cuts are made on the "loosely assembled false keel". Having worked on the model for the past 4 weeks, assembling week by week, my false keel cannot now be disassembled, apart from the one rib which is not glued. Is it me misreading the instructions or is it now too late to make a Display Stand as Issue 5 illustrates.Confused

Hi Mike,

If you want to go this route, then a pad saw or razor saw or could be used to make the vertical cuts, then cut across with a knife. Having said that, you might want to wait until issue 6 to see what items are requred and that you are able to purchase these before making a start.

You might want to consider looking at one of the many commercial options for a display stand:

Hi,
A question for Mr T really, is it likely we will be offered a nice matching stand and name plate as was the case with the Victory?

Yes, its planned that one will be offered at the end of the series similar to that being offered for the Victory.

Thanks Mr T, I thought the stand was quite attractive and reasonably priced. I'm not a fan of the stands which have screwed pillars into the keel.
