Hi guys, being totally new to ship building i've waited a while to start so i can see whats coming and pick up a few hints n tips from here. Now on issue 1 and i notice where the bow former supports slot in there is a little play in the pieces and i'm wondering how critical it is in positioning them.

Am i right to assume that as long as everything is where it should be and and at 90degrees to the next piece it can't go to wrong?

Thanks,Rich

sorry just a little add-on,where a clamp cannot be used does anyone use a spot of super glue to hold the pieces while the PVA sets or just glue and let gravity do the job?

Hi Rich,
To your 1st post I think the answer is yes. These parts are laser cut very accurately and if as you say everything is square and the parts themselves are not warped or twisted it will be fine.
To your second post, Super Glue and PVA do not go well together CyanoAcrylates need a tiny amount of moisture to set and in the presence of too much moisture do not cure properly.

hi hector, had a look at the video, errrrrrrrr don't really know what to say,all I could say is he is NOT a boat builder,as he says in his intro,is that he has only built plastic models, and is using skills associated with plastic.some big mistakes in the video,he built the cannon truck the wrong way round, didn't use a set sqaure to square up the ribs, did it by eye, didn't check for warps,I could go on,but please that video should never have been made,it is a health and safety nightmare.
Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory
