Then I cut out the parts and removed all the loose ash from the edges:-

Now using PVA adhesive I fix the parts of ribs 20 and 21 together, using my board lined with plastic, so the ribs do not stick to the board:-

Well thats all for this week, my balsa has arrived for the hull I can not wait to get started.
As usual questions and comments are welcomeBigGrin
I will leave you with the tile press filling up, at this stage I have placed 3 extra tiles on top to give extra weight, so we keep everything level and ship shapeBlink excuse the pun.

Kind regards

Hey MWG forgive the newbie question...but what do you use to get the rough shape of the balsa? I've never used balsa before let alone a model like this but would very much like to give it a go.
cheers

Hi CPT, I measure the space between the ribs, transfer it to the balsa wood and cut using a razor saw and or knife, then shape with sandpaper and file.

I will be doing a tutorial of how I carry out the task, on my build diary.
I have already shown how I do the front rib earlier on in my diary

Thank you for a positive question I hope the answer helps youBigGrin Regards Mike

Hi Peter, thats true, we enjoy the calm beore the storm.
