Issue 6 - Contains frames 20 and 21., and has instructions for the assembly of frames 20 & 21, and assembling cannon tackle blocks.

Prepare and assemble frames 20 and 21 as before.

Fit and glue frame #20 into the slot following frame #16, then fit and glue frame 21 into the slot following frame #20,
Ensure that both are fully seated into the keel and are set at 90 degrees to it.

Assembling the cannon tackle blocks - You will need the six blocks and three eyebolts provided with Issue 2, the wire provided with Issue 1 and the cannon assembled in Issue 2.

Follow the magazine steps to make three blocks similar to those made in Issue 4, step 13, page 13. Then attach one block to each of the three the eyebolts on the cannon.

Assemble another three blocks in a similar way to those shown in Issue 4, step 15, page 13, but this time add an eyebolt to each, as shown at step 16, page 13 of issue 6

That's it for this stage, carefully store the blocks and cannon.

Future issues:

Issue 8 - Contains the ship's Launch framework parts.

Issue 7 - Contains parts to assemble frame 22, stern false keel section and brace pieces.

Carefully cut the parts free from the fret, then prepare them as before.

Take the assembled keel so far, and glue the stern false keel in place, followed by the bracing pieces, which should be clamped on either side of the keel.
Ensure that the frame slots on either side of the brace are not obscured by them, then set aside to allow the glue to fully set before adding the next frame.

Assemble frame 22 as before, then glue it into slot 17 of the false keel, ensure that it is fully seated into the keel and set at 90 degrees to it.

Thats its for this stage.

Future issues:

Issue 8 - Contains framework parts for the ship's Launch.

Issue 9 - Contains parts for the assembly of frames 26 & 27.

Issue 10 - Contains the bowsprit frame parts and hull planking for the Launch.

Issue 8 - Contains frame parts for the assembly of the ship's Launch.

Remove the required parts from the fret, then cut the 3x3mm strip into two 125mm lengths.

Glue the to 15mm strips to the outer edge of the underside of the jig plate, and place a weight on top to ensure that the jig frame sets flat and without twist.

Fit and glue the stem post (part #2), make sure that it is set at right angles to the jig plane.

Fit and glue the #3 formers to frame #1 at the bottom (but not at the top), then glue frame #41 in place on the jig.

Ensure that all of the frames are set at right angles to the jig plane and are fully seated into their slots.

Fit and glue frames 4-13 in to the corresponding slot numbers on the jig.

Fit and glue the stern transom suport in place (part #14) and allow the glue to set.

Use a file to slightly widen the slot of frame 15 at an angle, so that frame 15 can slope so that it contacts wth the stern transom suport (14). Ensure that the marked line on frame 15 faces to the outside before gluing it into place.

The firstof the ship's boat hull planking will be laid in Issue 10, and is completed in Issue 11.

Thats its for this stage, carefulLy store the jig and the remaining fret of parts.

Future issues:

Issue 10 - Contains the bowsprit frame parts and hull planking for the Launch.

Issue 9 - Contains parts for the assembly of frames 26 & 27 and brass mesh.

Prepare and assemble frame #26 as before, the glue into place upon the keel into the slot following frame 22. Ensure that it is fully seated and set at 90 degrees to the keel.

Prepare and assemble frame #27 as before. Then glue into place the gallery support pieces 28, 29 and 30 into the marked locations on the frame.
Ensure each support is fully seated and that the lower and upper edges are flush with the frame, and are set at 90 degrees upright to it.

DO NOT glue frame #27 onto false keel as yet.

That's its for this stage, carefully store the brass mesh.

Future issues:

Issue 10 - Contains the bowsprit frame parts and hull planking for the Launch.

Issue 10 - Contains the stem/bowsprit frame parts and hull planking for the Launch.

Number the bracket parts then remove all parts from the fret and prepare them as before.

Glue bracket #35 in the position shown on the bowsprit. Ensure the bracket is set square to the stem/bowsprit.

Continue the bracket fitting process, fitting brackets 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 in place.

Ship's boat - Retrieve the ships boat framework assembled in Issue 8 and one of the 0.6x3 x 250mm planking lengths.

Carefully "fair" the frames of the ships boat as shown in the steps, (a nail file emery board is ideal for this).

Cut the planking strip into equal lengths, then fit and glue the first in place as shown in the steps, but do not glue the plank to the #3 ribs., (I used superglue gel to secure the planking).

Repeat on the opposite side of the hull.

That's it for this stage. Carefully store the bowsprit stem and ship's boat, where next time the hull planking of the ships boat will be completed.

Future issues:

Issue 11 - Contains the lower deck pieces.

Issue 12 - Contains dummy gun support beams, deck support beams, pin-nails, brass strip and brass mesh

Issue 13 - Contains an anchor, thread, oars, dowel, wood strips and a bucket.

Issue 14 - Contains deck sections.
