cheers peter What I did do is use a chisel(no hammer  ) because the hull frame was a different shape,somehow the frame was straight in the middle,so I covered the edge of the stem with felt tip pen and moved it up and down to leave a mark on the frame and just chiseled away at the marks until it was a good fit,seemed to work well. . It is all fitted now and now working on the gallery.

Hi Rob As everyone has said its looking very good! Re: your question about stain-varnishing the hull you'll need to be very carefull with that, even dark stain varnishes are still just varnishes! They cover the surface with a transparent film which means if there are any differences in the material ie. wood and filler that difference may well still show through, it might be reduced considerably but it could still be discernable.  I copper tiled my own Victory (the Del Prado 1/100 scale) making my own tiles out of self adhesive 6mm copper tape as sold for slug defence/dolls house internal wireing on ebay and embossing the rivets into the tape. It cost me about a tenner in all to complete my hull, your Vic is about half as long again as mine so you're probably looking at £15-20 using this method. You can see the effect in my own diary, it looks fairly good especially after a few weeks of oxidising to remove the excess shine. It is very important to give the hull a couple coats of gloss or semi-gloss varnish however to give the tape a good surface to bind to. HI Robin, thanks for comment I realize about the stain/varnish etc, but still not sure what to do as yet, I have been thinking to get as much of the filler off as i can then see.  Your build looks cool,must have taken an absolute age to complete that copper hull you mentioned and it does look nice.  cheers rob

Hi folks!! Bit of advice please, on the photo just above the plank it looks as if the plank is too low for the next plank as the next one has to have that sharp curve, do I move the planks to make it level or sand the keel as there is not much. thanks again for your advice cheers rob The next two is how it looks so far,any tips would be gratefully received. sandnesspeats attached the following image(s):

Hi folks!!! Hope everybody had a great xmas and new year,(bit late I know  ) I have run in to a bit of a dilemma ,I have run out of eye bolts for fitting on to the back of the cannons to feed the ropes through, don`t know how I am short  .I only need four I think as I am issue 50. Will I need more than this later on.I am at the stage where I am fitting the ten cannons(photo). Any advice would be great. sandnesspeats attached the following image(s):

HI Rob. Good looking build you have there. As far as the eyebolts go, they normaly are issued with each canon with maybe a spare one. Maybe check your issues as they come in. It helps me to keep my blood pressure down in doing so. I have found a few discrepancies along the way which is normally sorted out with a phone call. Good luck. Rgds, Hans

hi hans, Thanks for the comment . They are a nightmare to pick up sometimes and one or two must have pinged in to the abyss. I have a lot of rings left though,looked everywhere, might have to make some with electric wire or something . thanks again rob. ps as you say might come to a phone call

Hi Rob What size are the eyebolts? I've got some 9mm long by 2mm wide at the bolt end. I was going to say you can get them in most good model shops but then I saw your location! Say no more! If the size is the same drop me your address by PM and I'll send you up a dozen if that would help. Mine are left overs from Grimsby and Bounty, they're far too big for 1/100 scale Victorys! Hi Robin, You are absolutely right about the location  . Sorry to say that the eye bolts are only about 6mm long 0.5mm thick and the eye is 1 mm, I did however find some electrical wire which is about the right thickness so will have to make that do,I know it is copper but what can I do , Thank you for your offer and best wishes rob
