Vettel has been disqualified from qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and will start from the back of the field.
The championship leader, who qualified third, did not have enough fuel in his car for a sample to be taken.
Vettel stopped his car out on the track on his way back to the pits at the end of the session, as McLaren's Lewis Hamilton had done in Spain in May.

It promotes his title rival Fernando Alonso of Ferrari to sixth on the grid.

The decision gives Alonso a golden opportunity to make up some of the ground he has lost in the championship following a major step forward in performance made by Red Bull since the Singapore Grand Prix at the end of September, and may well have cost Red Bull the Championship!

Should be interesting to see if tomorrows race is going to be an all out attack from Vettel

One hell of a drive by Vettel though, but wasn't Webbers pitstop "convenient" for him. This could be a good chance for F1 to generate interest in the U.S if the championship is decided there ..but 15 points or more ahead of Alonso...it's a big ask.

One heck of a drive from Vettel amongst a high proportion of shunts!

I wish I could step in the same stuff that he stepped in! LOL LOL

Yes, it was a brilliant drive, can't deny that, but how much luck did he get to help him along the way? TWICE he was allowed to close a big gap to the front by safety cars being brought out otherwise he may only have finished in the bottom half of the top ten at best? Over the moon for Raikkonen and Lotus though - what a superb race!!
