Fantastic, not just the clip you linked but also the others going back into the thirties. Whatever happened to Empire Day?
I assume not, but is there a ceremony in Trafalgar Square to commemorate the battle these days? I think we should campaign to give Trafalgar Day more coverage on television news and dress Nelson's column in garlands etc.

WOW!!! Absolutely brilliant! How realistic can you get? I wish I had been able to visit the waxworks to see it for myself, but I doubt that it is on show today? as I believe that they change their arrangements on a regular basis, thanks for sharing the video with us.. thats good, i would love to go and see that, where i am from in cornwall there is a blitz place like that and my gran took me when i was little, i was so scared by the figures i didnt want to go in, but she convinced me and took me in, i was fine untill one of the figures turned out to be a real person dressed up! he scared the hell out of me and i ran away!!

If you want an authentic experience of the Georgian Navy you cannot do better than visit Hartlepool Maritime Experience.The site developed from the discovery of an eighteenth century drydock which had been filled in, in Victorian times. A series of replica buildings of the Georgian period have been built around the excavated dock and HMS Trincomalee is moored in the dock. Visiting Trinc is a fantastic visit in itself.  The 'Fighting Ships' experience takes you on board a ship of the period to see waxworks recreating various scenes on board and culminating in a battle with sound effect, blood guts and gore. (I must take Ben to see it even though no crocodiles - see early posts!) There are also a series of shops such as the Ship's Chandlers and the Naval Outfitters etc etc.   For those of us lucky enough to live in the north(!) well worth a visit!! P.S. I'm not on commission or in the pay of the local council. Mike T

Wow!! Looks like a historic time capsule, well worth a visit! Thanks for the info, I will definitely plan a trip up there during the coming months..whether it can be taken in all in one day or spread the visit over a weekend, I will give it some thought?? The Hartlepool Maritime place is well worth a visit, went there a few years ago, the stores etc on the dockside are brilliant !!

I'm realy looking forward to visiting that place ....if it is like visiting the baker street place in in manchesters granada tour it will be classic.
