Hi Alan, you do what is right for you, fitting Balsa infills is not for everyone, and it is time consuming work, you have done a great job of yours, but hey! the choice people make in their builds, is a personal one, and for me makes this hobby so interesting.

Kind regards Mike

Hi Mike,
I'm beginning to suspect an undeclared interest in an Ecuadorian Balsa Plantation. LOL LOL

Sorry Mike, couldn't resist. Nice work though, are you planning on trying the Bamboo planking or going for the traditional Limewood?

Hi Andy, I have not decided yet, I will have a look at the product that De Ag are supplying first. It does bend very easily, and if you make a mistake and pin the plank on the edge it will not split, but it is very difficult to sand, the good thing is it will be under the second sheathingBigGrin Kind regards Mike

Couldn't agree with you more Mike, loving the build and also your diary... I do intend to do the infills on the gallery support but like you I want to see what else is to be attached.... It is time consuming but I feel it is worth the extra effort and as we all know it is not a race plus I have to curb my impatience..LOL .... Keep posting..

I cut out all the parts and put away for safe keeping the Keel parts. I then sanded the parts I am using this time, removing all loose ash:-

ISSUE 10 BUILD

What comes next is the building of the parts together with the Balsa infill which (surprise surprise I prefer to do) and gives a very rigid stem piece:-

SOTS LAUNCH BUILD

Hi Team, here is the start of my Lauch build, I have sourced an alternative to the Ships Boat that is supplied by Deag in the kit.

I prefer the fact it has a resin hull, and the way the ribs are fitted, gives a better scale rib.

This is my preferance and I believe it enhances the SOTS, here is the launch kit:-
