Can anyone direct me to the section in " official build diary " where the mast is getting built, I am building Surprise, and I am struggling with the details of the framing and cleets around the fore top area, it is the framing to the lower mast, that protrudes through the foretop, on son of bulwarks build I see framing and rope, can any one tell me how to do this bit, and what is the rope, for that goes around it in a figure of 8.

Hi there Mo
Tomick's official build diary of the Victory covers the building of the main mast starting at 61 through to 64.
I'm no expert but there must be some differences between the masts on the Victory and those of the Surprise, so hopefully another of our shipmates will offer some enlightenment on your problem.

Thanks David, don't really know my way about the victory builds, I will have a look, there does not seem to be a official build for surprise, so I will just have to copy the victory build to a certain extent, I really don't know or understand what I am doing, I am really just copying others, I have no understanding of mast and rigged ships, that's is why I am asking so many questions, but I really want to turn out a good build, not necessarily a authentic copy.

There is no official build for Surprise, but have you had a look at the Magpie1832 build of Surprise, its likely he's way beyond this point and can identify what your looking for, or send him a PM...http://forum.model-space....aspx?g=posts&t=683
