This is the first time i have looked at your victory build. Looking great as we have come to expect from your work. I have missed all the conversations about the Gallery enhancement but i am thinking of doing the same for my San Juan Nepomuceno when i get round to starting it. Due to the nature of my work i can do the CAD drawings for this and there are a few guys at my University that are willing to laser cut it for me, so all of your tips are a great help for the future. Hi Peter sorry I missed your post thanks for looking in Kind regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

FITTING THE GALLERY ENHANCEMENT PAINTING We must now mask the stern piece (ply 1) and the side gallery pieces (ply 1a and ply 1b) the object is to paint the black squares between the windows on ply 1 and extend the yellow ochre lines on ply 1a and 1b (we will mask and paint the black squares on ply 1a and 1b in the next session. PLEASE DO NOT RUSH THIS PROCESS, YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR RESULT FOR A LONG TIME!! Here are ply 1 and ply 2:- You can see the black showing through on the ends all you are doing is following the 2mm thickness all the way through. MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Mike Just finished painting the window frames as per instructions. They look good, but the yellow ochre that I've used seems in my humble opinion, a tad dull when teamed up with the walnut stain, so I may well give them another coat of a slightly 'brighter' yellow ochre. I'll have to take a trip to the local art shop tomorrow and try again before I remove the masking tape. I have used an acrylic yellow ochre from Winsor & Newton's Galeria range which compared well with the colour patch I took with me for comparison and looked similar to the colour you tried originally for the small window panes. Anyway,I'm sure it will turn out OK Thanks for all your help with this tutorial Mike, and look forward to the next instalment. David
