Hello Shipmates, Now onto the hull,I have decided to Copper Plate so here are a few pictures of my work so far.  After sanding a coat of PVA.  One Coat of PVA.  2 Coats of grey primer.  Filling Small Cavitys plus sanding.  2 Coats of Tamiya xf dark copper. Next I will be posting more picture's,this will be spraying the top with my own mix. Thank you for looking, Regards Trev. Hi Trev Looking great! Harty was looking into the 'did they copper the bottom' question a little while ago. From his (and others) research the answer was yes they did, and also no they didn't! It seems the whole of the keel as built into our models was coppered but then the dockyards added a thin sacrificial 'false keel' in plain wood under the actual one which was designed to scrape on the sea bed in shallow water without damaging the copper plates above it. Hope this helps. Also, does the DeAg copper come in one single pack or two? The Jotika set comes in two packs and their web site recommends opening both packs and mixing the contents otherwise the second bag will have a different degree of surface patina since it will be exposed to the air for a shorter time than the first. Hi All, Update on the Victory,spray painted yellow ochre I used Tamiya Lemon Yellow(x8)plus Desert Yellow(xf59)plus Flat Red XF 7 this I found to make up a good base under coat. Hello I have now started copper tiling my Victory I have found that a steady hand is a must and chop up some bits of wood to use as a guide when placing tiles.There is a back and front way to stick them and also you can pick up two copper tiles which are stuck together, but it looks like one.Before you start you need to make sure you are familiar with trimming I used a very sharp pair of scissors I used two types of glue the main glue was Evo-Stik Serious which will give you time to move them around be for they set, but if you need a quick set I used Vitalbond CA Thin cures in 10 Sec. I also found that Blue-Tac on a probe helped me to judge and keep the tile in line. Also what you need is a lot of time, so far I have spent over 170 hours and I haven't finished one side yet. I started this work over a month ago and had to leave all my other models but what a learning curve. I have posted a few pictures to have a look at to give you an idea. Nice work Trev and no it hasn't put me off copper tiling.... just haven't decided if I will tile or not....  ... When you see the finished tiled hull then I'm sure you will think all those hours spent will have beenw orth it..... Keep up the good work.... Regards Alan
