this is how I've marked out the lower decks,I won't be nailing, instead I will be using screw clamps(see my build on the san filip)after first gluing with aliphatic resin glue. If you have balsa'ed the hull be prepared to adjust the slots in the decks. don't forget that the decks should be flush with the outside edge of the ribs. thought the planking supplied a little too wide for the job so split it down the middle and made it 2mm.x.06mm.instead.looked more scale like. sorry folks, forgot to explain what I have done so far.stained the decking, and made some beam supports, ready for the deck planking.here I 'm veering away from the mag,I will be making a deck from .06mm ply and covering with 4mmx 1mm, lime wood, and then staining in oak danish oil.but will hold off the decking until I see the mag. Very nice Karl, just wondering why you are staining the lower deck when it is to be fully enclosed and unseen...... only advantage I can see is you will know it is there...... loving your work though.... Just so you know Karl, the next deck level is also plywood deck sections as per the lower deck rather than planked directly onto the beams.
