Having seen Mr T`s Issue 12 blog, if nails are deemed necessary, the decks could easily be pinned on the joint lines?
It`s not a daft idea?

I`ll pin mine, because I like to see a bit of brass, here and there

If pinning them I'd nip off the nail head itself so you see brass but not too much!

The lower deck is enclosed, therefore nothing visible..

What is the purpose of nailing the decks? The nailing instructions come in the issue after gluing the decks, therefore they are already fixed. The lower deck is not visible, so it is not a visual thing. Any suggestions?

Plywood end grain can soak up up PVA glue like a sponge, therefore the lower deck nailing is additional means of ensuring that the lower decks are secure on top of what is end grain ply, and is a method adopted in most Artesania kits as it was with the lower deck sections of the Victory build.

The next deck level is seated on deck support beams which span the model.

I didnt pin mine as i had the same idea as Peter1942.
I wish that was more clear in the instructions manual.
Second decking already done, i guess i have to just hope that it will never come apart Crying

It sounds like missed the very clear Step 1 image and instruction of issue 12, which show's and tells you to do this..
