A lot of the changes will be purely visual i.e paint scheme but some changes to the nose and wings will be done.. I'm not looking for it to be 100% spot on but for anyone to see it beside the McLaren would see they are 2 different cars without bringing in the FIA and scrutinising it

Great idea, I will be watching this with interest if you post a build diary as detailed as your Mclaren one. Regards Bob Builds in progress

Sounds like a very interesting project Spencer, I am intrigued to see how you will go about it. Will you be printing your own decals?
Great stuff, looking forward to the build progress.

Interesting stuff Spencer. I want to start looking into doing my own decals as it's something that has always intrigued me and I'd like to have a go, though I'm not sure how to go about it when it comes to getting the correct size when it prints out - need to do some investigating methinks!
If and when the Senna MP4/4 McLaren hits the UK I want to be able to do my own decals for that as I will be stripping all the paint off the car and respraying with the correct white and MP4 Red from Zero paints. Hate this prepainted stuff!! Would have done the same with the MP4/23 but just can't be bothered with all the extra work that Chrome entails since I really don't have the time available to get the perfect surface needed. I will also be doing some major superdetailing on the MP4/4, especially the engine since there is so much more reference material available for the older cars and there is barely an area of the MP4/4 that hasn't been photographed already - it's a nightmare trying to get good reference for the MP4/23 as you probably know mate!?
Looking forward to your Red Bull. Did you notice that Tamiya are releasing a 1:20 Red Bull RB6 next month? Could be useful for scaling up measurements and stuff maybe though it is a 2010 car so probably not much use?
All the best,
Kev

Looking good so far Spencer and it is easy to spot the difference between the two noses. No doubt a lot of work has gone into just in that little section?? Are you using 'Zero Paints' colour matched 'Red Bull' paints by any chance?? Looking forward to seeing this progress mate and definitely watching with interest!!

Still looks cool Spencer and you're a brave (and talented) guy doing this conversion. I think Zero do the Red Bull blue though if not the yellow, should you want complete accuracy or is the Renault Electric Blue a close enough match?? I think the Zero Blue is for the Red Bull race bikes but should be the same as the car colours I would imagine?
All the best mate and good luck with the build, I'm watching with interest!!

More of a cost factore Kev and the Renault Electrick blue is a very close match and one that is probably the same as being an RB Renault.. Anyway a few more updates below of the front wing conversion.. Warthog attached the following image(s):
