Thanks for that link jonny5j. Hopefully the Rope (thread) supplied will be to scale but you just never know! Easy enough to make for a quid or two which is a lot cheaper than the Amati one! you will get the cordage but will it be to scale? I have already bought mine weeks ago from cornwallmodelsndboats.just in case I do a bit of kit bashing. Thank God someone else asked what a rope walk was. I don't know either, but didn't want to admit it. But as my Dad used to say "The only daft questions are the ones you don't ask" Jimmy L.

Hi Wallace Try looking at this link Chatham Rope WalkIt's is over twenty years since I visited but it won't have changed much in that time. Fascinating to watch them demonstrating how ropes are made. Mike T

a ropewalk is a device that twist rope together to make thicker ropes there was a program on t.v. showing the last of the rope makers that still do it i think its called the ropewalk because the person making the rope walks along with the spinner checking the twist, at the time they were making rope for the victory

 Hi guys. Why would we need to make our own rope I am hoping that the price we are paying we should get the correct scale gear. Mind you if the carronade fittings & anchore cable are anything to go by........
