Hi Sandy,
Fantastic job on the Launch. As you say a much better match for those in the contemporary pictures, which do all seem to have that profile.

Thanks a lot guys.
Like I said I have a good few weeks until we see how the stern is shaping up before I start on the ship. Plenty of time to horn the launch a bit.

Hi Sandy nice job on the launch,it seems a shame to paint it,id be tempted to clear varnish the inside of the boat and only paint the outside.I havent started mine yet,and still tempted to plank clinker style, but i'll have to wait for the brass decoration because the uppermost plank needs to be the same size as this.I pretty much in the same position as you, waiting for more issues in advance before i really get stuck in.I have managed to find some 4mm wide boxwood for planking the upper hull.I plan on making the wales in walnut.
In the meantime im in deep with my sergal soleil royal(heavily modified)

Hi Sandy,
Your image link doesn't work, it looks like you might have pasted your images in the wrong spot rather than between the 2 [img] markers.
I've done that a few times, I always preview my posts first now.

Sandy, as Andy has already pointed out following your previous post, your image links don't work, it appears you might have pasted your images in the wrong spot rather than between the two [img] brackets.

Thanks Guys for all your help

Amended Stern Castle. Still to be tidied up and clad with lime planks before painting. I have made the gun ports 10mm for now as at that size I can fit the canon barrels through the ports onto the trucks.

Cut away on the half frames I also reduced their hight and the top of the stern post by their own thickness enabling frame 47 to be fitted at the same hight as the middle gun deck.

View from the Stern, the Port sub deck dry fitted. As you can see I have also cut a hatch amid ships and two for the anchor cables. the forward bulkhead has yet to be tidied up before painting ( below decks will be painted off white to mimic the lime wash used to protect the wood and reflect light from the lamps).

Sub decks to be trimmed off when fitted

Frame 47 refitted dry for now

View with Stern castle dry fitted

View along the Lower Gun Deck with the Port sub deck in place looks like I will have to trim a little more off the inner uprights.

View along the middle deck. I have still to trim back frames 28 & 29 and cut the embrasure for the tiller as the steering room was at the after end of the middle deck.

like I said mine is not a standard build.

Thanks again Guys
Sandy

Glad to see you got there, with the photos, in the end.
Looks a very interesting departure from the standard build, hope to see more photos as you progress.
