Great answer, I was just going to post a hint before I had to plug my phone in, He lived about 300 m from my house but I never met him, When I get to a computer I will post a link or two from a local paper about his life, His civilian exploits are even more impressive, Your turn now

Ok chaps this will be challenging but let's see what happens  When General Schwarzkopf lead the Allied forces into battle against Iraq in the first Gulf war he had one book with him all the time. I would like to know the name of the book and the author. From my friends that grew up here they all called him comdr king, never by his first name !

Ok, thankyou Where would you find the only memorial for a German soldier placed by the Allies in a German military cemetery? Who was the german soldier, and why the memorial?

Alfred Hamann Rank: Corporal Born: March 12, 1918 in Berlin-Treptow Unit: 10th Sturm-Regiment Died on: 20.05.1941 Buried in Souda Bay,Crete His body was originlly found in a garden in Maleme in 1956 & the police chief removed his identity tag,when the volksbund reburial service arrived in 1960 the only thing that was found on him was a watch which had been made in England. Because of this they buried him in the Allied Cemetry. Following an agreement reached between the Commonwealth War Grave Commission and the Volksbund, a decision was taken not to transfer the remains again from Souda Bay to the Maleme cemetery. This is a pure guess but I'll say Erwin Rommell the Desert Fox. I know that Churchill made a speech about him in Westminster after he was forced to take his own life when the plot to kill Hitler failed. There is a stone monument with a bronze plaque at the Hürtgen military cemetery dedicated by veterans of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division to the memory of Friedrich Lengfeld (29 September 1921–12 November 1944), a German lieutenant. Lengfeld died on 12 November 1944, of severe wounds sustained while helping a wounded American soldier out of the "Wild Sow" ("Wilde Sau") minefield. The Journalist is Jeremy Clarkson.
Robert Henry Cain won the VC during the withdrawal from Arnhem. His daughter, Frances Catherine Cain is married to Jeremy Clarkson. She is also his agent.
"Major Cain was armed with only a light 2" mortar". He fired this in an almost horizontal plane, due to the enemy being so close....!
