The only thing I have managed to do this evening is to give the final coat of paint to the dummy gun supports... Am a lot happier with how it looks, it is now completely black instead of streaky black.... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Hoping tomorrow will be a good day with the arrival of issue 15 and hopefully a replacement STRAIGHT bowspirit plus the paints and goods I have ordered from CMB.... fingers crossed .....

Ok, so now it's my turn to look for an answer... Mr T painted the outside of his launch Ivory white and quoted Humbrol RC417 as the colour. Received that colour from CMB today but to me it looks more like a pale green than ivory white..... has anybody got and used the same paint??? Pictures look more white that green but definately a green tinge to it.... Not sure whether to paint with some other white I have.... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Happy tonight, issue 15 picked up from the newagents and all parts looking good.. Bonus, received in the mail today my replacement bowspirit and delighted to see it was straight. Can now move forward with the bow.... Planks, paints and other materials arrived from CMB meaning I can now have a go at laying decking... May not see a lot of the 2nd deck but it will be good practice for me.... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Started work on the ships gallery this evening.... Firstly, cutting all the parts from the fret and cleaned off all the black ash from the joining surfaces.... have to say there was more than ususal..... Completed a dry fit to see where the problems may be as outlined in Mr T's official build.... knowing where the faults lay I began by glueing support pieces 34 to the lower gallery deck ensuring everything was square... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Next I glued the completed lower deck to gallery piece 27 again ensuring it was square and perfectly aligned.... left to set... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Next I attached the central support struts 43 to the lower gallery deck ensuring it was square to the deck. Before the glue had time to set I attached the upper gallery deck. This way I could ensure everything sat correctly and lined up..... left it now for the PVA to set... Gandale attached the following image(s):

The fitting of the final struts no 45 requires a little work so have decided to leave that for tomorrow.... as usual, thanks to everyone who is looking in..... Regards Alan

Hi Alan again, good job Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Onwards with the gallery section. Finally fitted and glued the support struts part no 45. However, did find on my build the small gaps at the top of the struts some builders were finding were actually at the bottom on my build.... Fitted small scrap pieces to fill the gaps and double checked everything for squareness.... am happy with the way it turned out..... Gandale attached the following image(s):
