Hi Guys I just thought I would start a topic for those of us who are not doing a build diary but would like to show our progress. So to kick it off here's mine. I am pretty pleased with how it is coming along, I have only made a few mistakes mainly down to using too much adhesive but thankfully nothing that will show. The rear wing was all a bit fingers and thubms but eventually came together, the rear suspension was also a bit fiddly but enjoyable in fact I have loved every miniute of this build it's just a shame it is only one evening a month. Let me know your thoughts (good or bad) and please if you do not have a build diary post some picks and let us know how things are coming along. I would also like to thank Tomick and all the other build diary authors as without you guys this whole experience would be incredibly difficult and daunting. So thank you ang give yourselves a huge pat on the back. Smeg and the Heads attached the following image(s):

Hi All With only a couple of months to go everything is starting to come together, I now have a roling chasis and it's starting to look like a car in the pits rather than a box of bits. Can't wait till November when it will look like it's ready to race ! Smeg and the Heads attached the following image(s):

Superb job Smeg - well done on a great build, very neatly finished and I love the low down from the rear shot, those tyres look nicely scrubbed like they've just done an installation lap. Great stuff!!
Thanks for showing.
That reminds me I must get on and do some more to mine!!

Nice photos Smeg, thanks for posting them and I see you've made use of the aftermarket decal set from F'Artifice with all those cockpit extras. You did well to get all those tiny labels on the steering well as well!! Did you use the ones for the underside of the radiators in the lower side pods??
Good stuff and I love the three different sizes of the same car!!

Thanks Kev I didn't manage to get the tiny number decals on the steering wheel but I did use all the others including the radiator decals, I also had anoter F'Artiface set that had lots of temperature 'sticker' decals and a water slide of the Mercedes logo for the nose cone, something that seems to have been an issue for others because the one supplied by Deag' is a sticker. I think the after market decals have certainly made a big difference to the overall effect and finished it off nicely. Also the F'Artface decals are superb quality amd much better than others I have used. I'm looking forward to seeing further progress on yours, what you have done so far is superb

Thanks for the compliment on mine Smeg and I'm keen to get it finished sometime soon after the festive season, so shouldn't be too long to wait. I've just got a list of things to do at the moment that is longer than BOTH my arms, but I'm hoping to bring some of my diaries to conclusion as soon as possible!!!
You should post your McLaren in the Gallery as Tom says - it will be a nice addition to the rest of them in there??
Well done again, Smeg, you've done a great job with it and you should be rightly proud of what you've achieved!!
