Mizzen. Adding the braces. 1)Is the thread taken through the double block on the end of the cross jack yard? 2) If so does the thread go back and forth i.e through both holes and then taken back and down to the last but one shroud to be tied off? or 3) Is only one the holes used on the double block and then tied down on the same side or back across and tied down?

Run the threads back through one hole of the double blocks on the ends of the cross jack yard, crossing them to run from the port shroud to the starboard yardarm, and visa versa.
Double the threads back on themselves and take them back through the blocks attached to the shrouds to form an X pattern, then tie the threads off to the last but one mainmast shroud. Tension both sides together then seal and trim the threads.

Thanks for that - however, when I carry out those instructions, as in steps 1,2,3,4 & 5 and compare the finished result it doesn't square with the illustration on page 13 issue 112 which is confusing me i.e in the illustration the line of the threads (F) go from the double block on the end of the Crossjack yard to the single block on the Shroud and then appear to go straight down to tie off at Confused the last but one shroud.

It does say to tie off ast the last but one main mast shroud.

Mt T, Thank you for your patience. My point is that the illustration on page 13 of issue 112 is at odds with the instructions, which I have followed exactly. My line finishes at the double block on the end of the crossjack yard and is tied off as you quite rightly say at the last but one shroud. In the illustration the line appears to finish at the single block inside the shroud and then straight down to be tied off. There does NOT appear to be a line from the end of the crossjack diagonally down to the last but one shroud.

I simply tied off at the last but one shroud.

MrT, Many thanks. It still looks odd to me but so be it.

On my search for the Crowns on the Catheads. CMB said it was nothing to do with him and suggested possibly CMB Models. Googled that but no luck. I would really like to finish the Catheads off properly so do you have any other suggestions? Thank you again. John

CMB is Cornwall Model Boats. If you google that you should find them.
