While waiting for next issues to arrive  thought i would do some practise deck planking . Can anyone tell what size planks are used on the decks ?, Ive got some 4 by .5 mm. lime, would that be ok, it scales up to about 13.5 by 1.75 inches which sounds ok to me.

Hi The size you have is the same as the size recommended to me,but before you start take a look at Gandale`s build log for some enhancements. Deck planking starts about page 16 or 17 in his log. Hope to see pics of your progress Slowboat, takes a lot of patience but am sure you will end up with a very nice result.... use the 2nd desk to experiment on your decking technique as very little will be visible when finished.... good luck and I look forward to following your progress...... Just got to say gandale your idea of using black card as calking works a treat. For the nails I'm drilling the holes at .3mm dia then using bristles cut from an old shoe brush,they are slightly less than .2mm in dia. Held in place with a spot of super glue they can be sanded off smooth quite easily.
Must start sorting some pictures out.
