Finally got round to starting work on the Garboard plank.... only problem I encountered was twisting the plank to fit the stern... first two planks split and snapped. Finally got the hang of it by simply taking it easy and with patience.... Taper on the bow proved to be fairly straight forward, used map pins to hold the tapered plank in place along the taper and normal pins into pre-drilled .5mm holes for the rest..... Hopefully finish issue 18 tomorrow....BigGrin BigGrin Happy building all....

Thanks for the recommendation Andy, Karl... Davids Plane, plus a few other goodies arrived today and have used it for the first time tonight... excellent tool so think my cute little planes will be used for some rougher work if needed.... thanks again....

Finally finished issue 18.. took a little bit of time but thoroughly enjoying the planking experience... Am hoping to finish issue 19 planking over the weekend and catch up a little..... Am quite pleased with the results so far....Blink Blink

Today I finished the planking up to and including issue 19.... Issue 20 says to add another 3 rows and then do some work on the launch.... will decide tomorrow what I will do.... Am happy so far with the way the planking is looking.....

Claret, thanks for the kind comment..... being patient certainly helps and I too am enjoying the planking.... The marks you see have been made by the drill chuck and just for my own piece of mind I have marked the location on the bottom deck on planks.... just gives me a visual reference.....Blink Blink
