Hi Jonny

This question has been asked many a time and i have always recomended Alclad2 Chrome if your using an airbrush.

For those wanting to touch up using a brush then use Vellejo Liquid Silver790

Hello

If I need to touch up with the Vallejo paint using a brush, is there a particular technique that will blend it in with the surrounding finish as smoothly as possible? I can imagine ending up with a rather obvious delineation between the original finish and the re-painted one.

I haven't needed to use it yet, but at some point I probably will!!! Blushing

That's a good question and very much depends on your skills. It is very hard even for an experienced modeller to achieve a near on perfect finish using a brush compared to using an airbrush.
When Using a paint brush you are not really in control of the amount of paint being applied where as with using an airbrush and some experience you are more in control and the colour can be blended to match.

Silver in particular is very hard indeed due to the particles in the paint. As you have said you have not yet needed to use it and if you follow all the tips regarding building the MP4/23 then you should end up with a beautifully finished car..

Feel free to start a build diary of your progress be nice to see another MP4/23

BigGrin Hi Matt
I agree with all Spencer says but will differ slightly and say brushing paint will always show up on a spray finished original paint finish as supplied so I would reccomend wearing cotton gloves to keep scuffs to a minimum

Thanks guys, very helpful as usual!! I have bought a pack of cotton gloves from Amazon and will wear them when handling the bodywork.

I will have a go at uploading some photos soon. ThumpUp
