Just joined and wanted to share my finished mclaren. i bought on e bay all 85 parts; funnily from a guy that worked for Mclaren. i am an impatient man, and completed in 3 weeks. i have made some errors, but will gradually resolve them now i have done 98% of the model. its been tricky at times, but i am impressed with the finished product. I need to re do the rear wing, but have added a flashing rear LED light and white stripes on tyres.I may do some tweaks to the model on an ongoing basis so watch this space. i will attach some photos, so let me know what you guys think, as there are some awesome model makers out there!!! i have been model making since i was 12, on and off, but i love it. link to video of LED pit stop light: https://www.dropbox.com/...13-01-30%2016.38.32.mov
cheers all. kikicheeky attached the following image(s):

thanks chris ! It was a combination of excitement and impatience. i have made loads of models , but never made a car of this scale with so much ABS glueing. overall i am happy with it and glad i could put in a flashing pit/rain light LED. cheers kian

Great job KiKi. Done the flashing LED myself.Just waiting on some replacements now to finish.Your tyres look really shiny. Is that just with using the silicone gel or something different?

Hi Davyp1 i put the tyres in the bag for 3 nights after rubbing silicone onto them as per instructions. its funny as the 2 rear tyres are a lot more matt and duller than front 2, but i thought it could look like scrubbed rear tyres. the instructions say you can re silicon them again if you want to get them shiny. thanks for your kind comments. kiki
