Hello Trev,

I will look forward to seeing how you progress!! I don't ride bikes though I did in my youth like most lads but I do like Racing bikes and watching your build has inspired me to do one as well. Now that I am back on the forum I will be finishing some of my diaries and starting new ones, particularly in the Motor Modeller section which I enjoy!!

I have built a Revell 1:9 Rossi bike in the past and intend to do some more as I think bikes look very interesting as models and I will be posting up the start of a bike build diary later today. A kit which I have had for sometime but never gotten round to building but you have inspired me to do it now mate!! The kit is Italeri's 1:9 scale Honda RC212V as used by the Repsol Honda MotoGP Team in the 2007 World Championship.

Keep up the good work Trev, I am watching with interest!! Just thought we could end up being known as "Trev 'n' Kev" - the bike builders!! LOL LOL

Hi all,
Today I received my final parts for my Honda RC166 looks like I will be very busy fitting all the parts.
The first pictures are of the metal Chain Set all though there are some plastic bits.
The next set of pictures are of the Seat and Cowl Rivet Set,now the reason that I brought the Seat set was to try to get around the problem I have with the rear seat,I mention in my last post that I felt the seat look to small against the black rubber mould, thinking the rivet set would solve the problem but looking at the upgrade I think not.

Now I wonder what you think, the only way is to build the seat up to the or near to the top of the rubber mould, this can be accomplish by using White Puttey, making a gauge sanding down and re-spraying.

Regards Trev.

Thanks for your Time.
Trev.

BigGrin Hi Trev
Some impresive add ons you have there that should make an excelent model and very nice work as ussual,i think the only option you have with the fairing is to build it up to the correct height.

Loving your build. I have this kit with the extras, but I haven't started it yet. I'll really look forward to seeing how you get on with the chain and wheels.

I have heard that the chain is extremely delicate, and that a coat of Tamiya smoke helps hold it together. I gather that under no circumstances should you try turning the wheel !

Now that is very clever, and what a superb upgrade!BigGrin And I thought some of the Friul tracks were fiddly!!Blink BigGrin It will look perfect when fitted, as it will add some weight and sag really well. Is the rear wheel adjustable so you can tension the chain? Brilliant build, I love it!!Drool BigGrin

On a full size bike the chain is adjusted with the tightest point of the chain at the bottom and a certain amount of slack is required at the top (depends on manufacturer). The measurement is usually between the top run of chain and the swing arm, my Hayabusa is 20-30mm free play. On the model I think it will be down to a small gap between chain and swing arm, but it will be trial and error as to what looks right. But with the weight of the chain you will get sag, and that will give it a perfect look when its done!! I love it!!BigGrin BigGrin

amazing Trev...totally inspiring loving it and appreciate the work going into this fantastic build.
