I am now into the high 90's with my build and at the last count has over a dozen spools of thread of various colours and sizes. One problem I have found is that when you remove the sticker you also loose the ref to the size of the thread and it is not always easy to see which is which. Also they are a bit like storing the hosepipe in the garage, you put it away nice and tidy but when you come to use it again it is all tied up in knots. So I have devised a simple spindle rack to keep the spools tidy and also this allows me to mark the size for future reference. The thread is kept tidy and I can unthread enough for the current task. Take a piece of timber approx 7 inches square, drill in series of holes in my case 8mm as this is the size of dowel I used and is ideal for the spools. Hammer lengths of dowel into the holes and place the spools onto the lengths of dowel. Mark the size of the thread on the base or attatch the label. Simple but effective Piccy attached GilShapley attached the following image(s): Current Build:- [color=blue]Stash Avro Lancaster (Full Kit)plus some extra issues I picked up at a good price [color=blue]Built:- Norman Catapult by Mantua,Roman Catapult by Mantua,HMS Victory,HMS Victory XSection,Focker DB1,Bismark,English Carronade Titanic Lifeboat,American Civil War Gatling,Hummer,Sopwith Camel F1,Occre Jupiter ,OcCre Wagon, Latina Arab Dhow, Eaglemass Orrery OcCre Rogers 119 [color=red][color=red]RB7,OcCre Missippi River Boat, Model Airways Fokker DR1 OcCre London L>C>C 106 Ugears Scrambler, Ugears Hexapod Explorer UGears Off-Road Vehicle

Yep, second that. Having within recent memory rigged the Endeavour and been thoroughly muddled, I wish I'd had your idea then.

That's a great idea I have added the size to the spool in permenant marker but had not thought about how to keep them untangled. Thanks for the idea “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Brilliant idea, made one myself and works like a dream just one small addition, placed a small eye round the edges which i used to feed each spool. Works like a charm Rgds, Hans "It's okay to make mistakes. mistakes are our teachers - they help us to to learn, even if it is painfully" Current Build: Endeavour Cross section,D51 Completed: HMS Victory Under the bench: Endeavour x 2,Sovereign of the Seas, Akagi and The Black Pearl!HMS Victory Cross Section
