Hi, I was going to post this in my build log but it will prob get more replies here. I have just finished issue 55 and built the 3 pin rail sets. After looking through the official build to see when they are used it appears that i have to rebuild them altogether at around issue 86-90. Not very happy about this as i have just finished carving 6 posts at 15mm - The official build says this - "Pin rail posts - Some centre pin rail posts were made at week 55. However, it will be easier to rig the ship, and the pin rails will be more accurate, if the posts are made taller. Use the 5x5mm strip supplied in this issue and issue 84 to make replacement uprights to the dimensions shown at step 5 of page 10 - the method is as described in issue 55". Can i simply extend my posts by 5mm or do i really have to make new ones, ie do the 2 slots have to be 2mm from the deck or will 7mm from the deck be ok? Cheers Steve

hi steve,it's no real sweat to re-make the posts, annoying maybe, but considering the time factor between 56 and 87 that's over 3 months away, and the extra 5mm. is well worth it for the rigging. good luck. Thanks Karl, annoying is right I have just seen your method of doing these posts in component parts to avoid drilling so i will do them again at 20mm Cheers Steve
