 Hi all, Planking WAS going fine, stern done, all bar the thin infills top and bottom. Even the first bow planks are sitting fine (was dreading that bit, first timer)but the first plank that crosses rib 20 will bend inwards slightly causing a dip in the hull top edge. As you go further down the rib it seems to sort itself out. I can`t work out why  , has anyone else had same problem and if so is it just a case of a very thin piece of packing? Thanks in advance. a general rule del,whilst planking you pack out any discrepancies as you go.is the other side bulging?? if so,you have a rib mis-aligned,if not,just pack out the offending rib.good luck. Karl  Thanks for the prompt reply. Have just checked again and this time checked both sides, in a way thankfully it`s not a misaligned rib cos it`s the same both sides. del,can you check that the ribs were put in the right order,sounds silly,but I have done the myself,luckily I could put it right before the glue set. Hi Karl, Checking that is a bit difficult, balsa infilled etc,etc, but it is only the very top of the rib that`s wrong rest of it is fine. UPDATE I have just been looking at this issue a bit deeper and closer. I dry nailed some planks across rib twenty and it is only the top plank that is an issue, then on closer inspection of rib twenty it appears that there is a very small flat spot in the curve of the rib. I had the same on that rib but only on the starboard side. Depending on how deep the depression is you can pack out or if its not to deep skim with plastic wood to get a nice flow before the outer planking is laid. Sandy

Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Derek, Had exactly the same issue with mine. It was only visable when looking along the line of the ship (bow to stern) and only on one side. Required next to nothing in the way of packing oddly but really did stand out. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Hi tony, Yep my packing was very small, might even have a very,very small rise now compared to the second row of planks but nothing a fine sanding won`t cure.
