Ross Brawn is expected to leave his position as team principal of Mercedes following their recruitment of McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe.

Lowe is to run the team along with new Mercedes sports boss Toto Wolff from 2014 but he will be employed by McLaren until then on 'gardening leave'.

Brawn will stay on for now, but sources close to Mercedes say he will not continue in the long term.

McLaren have promoted engineering director Tim Goss to replace Lowe.

Oooops!!! Bet that's shook Hamiltons' tree!! Blink Huh

I suspect that Ross Brawn was one of the prime reasons that Lewis plumped for Mercedes, given Ross' illustrious reputation as a gifted tactician??

How cool would it be if Ross headed over to McLaren after 2014 and worked his magic there ... yes please!! Drool Drool

Thanks for the post Tom. ThumpUpBigGrin

Mercedes' new F1 leadership of Niki Lauda and Toto Wolff have certainly made an impact with their first two big decisions - signing Lewis Hamilton and taking on Lowe..

I agree with the both of you too!!

I'm not anti Hamilton, and I'm glad when he does well but I do favour the Button (It's even my daughters nick name and I also have a button tattoo'd on my arm Cool )

Yeah it's funny because wasn't it mystic EJ that said this towards the close of the season?

For all the predictions he makes they do tend to come to light
