Hi all, This is a very late starter, I`m new to this kind of modelling but have gone for it 100% as I am also building the SOTS. My Victory build will be in the Trafalgar colours with copper tiled hull, paints supplied by CMB as a set, purely because they do single pots in each colour if you need a top-up. I start with the 12lb cannon, wood primed with Humbrol matt white(already in my stock)and barrel lightly sanded and painted.Pic 1 Having verified the correction of the cannon carriage assembly,I continued to assemble the whole 12 pounder. Would be interested in how to improve the wheels with retainer pins showing etc,but this is the state of play at the moment.Pic 2 Sorry about the focus on that one, like my old school report "can do better, must try harder" . After the cannon I turned my attention to the forward frame work, Just the first couple of parts at the moment.Pic 3 I then turned to the anchor, I still have to attach the bindings to the stock and fix the rope but this is as it is at the moment.Pic 4 I`ve found I learn in two ways: 1: Ask questions 2: Listen to feedback So to that end feel free to come back to me, be it good or bad. Waiting for next parts, so will update asap Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

So Derek, you have made a start on your victory and a nice start it is too... Am very tempted to start my Vic, sort of biting my tongue, shackling my hands and storing issues out of sight..... the itch is growing but so far able to resist the temptation... for how much longer who knows... .. Good luck on your latest venture.... Regards Alan

Regards Alan Hi Alan, Started mine due to initial delivery problems with Sots, those issues seem to have settled at about 6-7 weeks behind, which is not such a bad thing, I get to see what`s going on before I try it. Also means if the planking starts to get a bit heady I can go to some of the basics with the Vic. Happy Building Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Delboy. Nice start as Alan said! I wish I'd known about the wrong-way-round cannon carriage too! I only bought the issue 1 to see what it was like and I'm going to eventually use the 12lb in a mini diorama and yes, I built it the wrong way too! Still never mind, stick enough crew around her and she should still look good! The easiest way to add the retaining pins to your trucks would be to forget about actually getting them through the axles and simply make either a sliver of wood or file a bit of brass wire to the tapered shape and then cut off the top and bottom pieces and glue them directly to the trucks above and below the axle position. I might try that myself on the diorama too. Happy building D. Robin First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1

Hi Derek, i don`t know if it`s the angle of the picture, but to me it seems that the stock of your anchor is turned upside down. The straight side should face away from the anchor (i´m sorry for my english!) whereas the curved side should face downwards. Keep up the good work, Walter Greetings, Walter

On the shelf: Italeri "Fiat Mefistofele", Italeri "Moto Guzzi California", Fokker "Red Baron", Revell Bismarck, Revell Tirpitz, Arab Dow, Stage Coach, .....

Keep up the good work,
Walter Walter, I`d like to say you spotted the deliberate mistake, ,but no such luck, I dropped a clanger. well it`s back to the start with that one. Many thanks for pointing that out now as I still have not done the bindings on the stock, so may be easier to part. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Good News, Careful knife line along the joint, plastic beaker of boiling water and hey presto with the aid of a small chisel the two halves of the stock separated . Just a little , but hey sorted without too much hassle. Thanks again Walter Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Willz, Thanks for the idea but I had managed to cut the slot in the stock so close it wouldn`t come off, so I resorted to the let`s get the glue softened method . Which i am glad to say worked without any damage to the parts. . Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
