In the mean time, I have just in the last two weeks started the Victory, I PM`d you with a request for the list of enhancements a few days ago but understand you`ve had some broadband prob`s, could you let me know if you received it if not will resend.
Keep up the brilliant tutorials I for one love em, even if I`m not that far advanced.

(Derek) Thanks Derek, The thinning of the bead in no way interfers with the keel infact it will enhance it. It will be no thicker than the rudder at 4.5 mm (allowing for 1/2mm of sheathing on both sides of the rudder)I hope my explanation makes sence? Us poor newbies follow the mags and official builds to the letter and I`ve seen instances where people are doing partial rebuilds because of typo errors. MWG a few other experienced guys are building in a manner that suits themselves and also making adjustments as a matter or personal choice, and is what comes with experience and realising pitfalls, I would not recommend that the novice builder take on such mod's.
The UK issue 34 contains additional info over the Italian steps.
What errors are you referring to?

What errors are you referring to? Mr T, One that springs readily to mind on the Vic, which I have just started is the first cannon build where the carriage is shown wide end to the front. I posted a query on the point and found several people had built as per the mag and now realised they got it wrong and a correction is printed in a latter issue. Like I said I`m not trying to be over critical, I`m loving both builds but don`t want to go down one line to be told several issues later there is a correction, that`s why I ask the questions first. Indeed there may be the odd hiccup, though most if not all are picked up in the official build diary, so the rule of thumb is check the official build first, though its not always possible for me to accomodate a change in advance of steps which advise a change much later on, which means I also end up having to make adjustment as and when it comes to light in the mag steps, that said, these are few and far between.
Luckily you are you are early on with your Vic, and have access to see the build end to end and also look around at all the excellent other builds, which is a huge advantage.
I can see that it can get confusing for the novice of picking between what may be a necessary adjustment and those that some builders are performing for personal choice or building in their own manner, rather than being a necessary route to follow.

BOWSPRIT MODIFICATION Hi Team, this is the Third modification I have done on this model, I must stress this is my interpretation of how I want my Ship to look, and is just what suits me. BOWSPRIT MODIFICATION I then prepared the new slot, choosing a position on the starboard bow just to the right of the fore mast. I used a black and becker power drill with a long woodworkin drill, and with the stem in place (dry fitted) I chose the angle that I felt was right for me and sympathetic to the ship. According to the Biography of Fitzroy (of Beagle fame) that I've recently read, he was the main instigator of the change. Starboard comes from an old word for steering board which were always on the right (in the days before rudders) and ships always moored on the left to avoid damage to the steering board, so had to be loaded on that side hence Larboard.
