Hi lads.
just a quick one here if anyone can help. I have planked the stern as in issue 17. I am fairly happy at how it turned out apart from one thing. In the magazine it ckearly shows after you put the first pkank on and work your way up to the stern plank that the fifth plank should touch the stern plank. For me this has happened on the fourth plank. It fts perfect and looks right so i cant figure it out. As per the magazine I have then fitted 4 planks either side of the stern plank and the half plank on top. Then i fitted the three on the botom on the curve of the ribs. Take note that I talk about this with t
he ship upside down. So as I say all fits and looks right but there is an extra plank in the magazine. Have I done something major wrong here. help please.

Hi Neon  Just to confirm what Dominic has said, mine is the same and I think the reason is that I have noticed some of the planks are fractionally wider than others, which meant my fifth plank would not quite fit without cutting it in half. Hi Neon the secondary planking will be Sapele and bass wood venear's, at a guess the Sapele will be upper superstructure and bass wood below the waterline but it may be the other way round  regards Andy  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

That's right guys, the basewood is below the waterline and painted white in the build as per the Italian site. Sandy

Hi Neon, perhaps one of the things to remember is that the mag and individual builds will all be different due to builder variations... the mag, official build etc are all guides, very good guides at that and if you adhere to the principles of the guides then you won't go far wrong, that is what I am doing and so far it has all worked out.... Above all else, if you are unsure then please keep asking the questions if only to put your mind at ease if nothing else..... You will always get an answer to help you.... Enjoy the build and keep us updated your progress.....
