Nice clear pics Karl ThumpUp

Do you have any photo editing software? If you want to send them to me before posting them, I'd be happy to crop (cut out the acreage of desk) and re-size them for you - just PM me if you are interested. (the same applies to anyone else) -If you'd rather do them yourself try downloading Picasa http://picasa.google.com/ - it's free, easy to use and quite a popular photo editing suite.

The half-width planking seems to work rather well and is something I will attempt on my build version. Are there any advantages (aside from the aesthetic qualities if going for a natural wood finish) to working with thinner planking?

That's great job Karl. Those half planks look great.

Keep it comming.

In terms of photo editing software I can help aswell. I'm a photographer and I work in photoshop.

thanks gents for the offer, i have canon software but could'nt be bothered, seeing as you notice such things, I will crop them first, now the launch.the planking is so fragile and white, that I have laminated it with tissue put on with sanding sealer, and then paint.

Can I ask ...how did you split the planks so accurately & are they any easier to work round the curves of the launch as i have to say from what you have done so far it looks far more accurate than full width planks. From having raced longboats in my youth the planking even on a clinker built wouldnt be the size of the suppied planks when scaled if my memory serves me well...though that is a dodgy issue at times.Also..how have you fixed the rubber band to the jig as I have been trying to work out a good way of holding the planks while they set but until I actually start I cant really try any of them.Keep up the good work ..you are an inspiration!
PS another free easy to use photo editor is PAINT.NET..even my mate who finds installing programs a struggle can use it!!(oh the joyful hours i've spent trying to sort his pc out..from 300 miles away!!)

Hi Karl, well done. I'd like to pose a question, first the width of the planks look far better, BUT (this is NOT aimed at your build Karl) the planks do look very thin.

I wonder if there will be a second planking?

Looking at the cannon in your photos, it looked too early for Victory. Looked at Cornwall site and if I'm right they describe them as 17th or early 18th century.

Personally I don't think I would want them on my Victory.
