Hi all,BigGrin
Just checking before I progress any further about the hull planking.
I have got one more row of planking(number 7) to finish issue 19, so checking on what was coming up in issue 20, I noticed that there should be 10 rows of planks to get us down to the lowest point of the Transom.
At this point I took 4 pieces of scrap bamboo to replicate planks 7-10
and the piece that would be plank 9 is very close to the lowest part of the Transom, so the question is, do I make slight tapers on planks 7-9 so that plank 10 fits ok?, or do I use only 9 planks and fit a spacer of some sort?.
I have checked the official build and there doesn`t seem to be any mention of tapering the stern planks.

Any advice will be gratefully acceptedBigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

PS,
Blind as a bat springs to mind, no mention of tapering in mag, but there is in the official build (sorry Mr T, missed it)

Cheers AlanBigGrin
Did notice after my post that the mag didn`t mention tapering at the stern, but the official build did and I missed itBlushing Blushing Blushing
Done a bit of a dry fit session and tapered 7-9 and that gave me a full plank at 10 when it starts to turn across the bottom of the transom.
Got plenty of time for the next week as the Doc signed me off for another week and upped the strength of the pain killers.

Happy building
