It's useless to resist the madness. Here is the start of my Bismarck Build Diary, if nothing else, I will be able to post my rambling thoughts here and not on other people's diaries.
I have the Trumpeter Kit plus the Upgrade from which I will only use the Metal Anchors and the modified plastic mounts for the Metal Barrels. Plus I have the awesome Mk1 DX kit of Resin, Transfers, PE, Metal Barrels, Mast and Wooden Deck. I ordered this direct from Korea, there do now seem to be supply issues with this. I also have Brass Props from G-factor which again I got direct from the US. Pontos Model have been doing a lot of talking about even more enhancements but have yet to give even a date. I am currently in possession of something like 5,000 parts for this KitDrool Crying Confused
I think my view is that I want to build a model that looks good rather than get bogged down in historical Rivet Counting, but who knows as the 'disease' progresses.Bored Blink Confused

Yay Cool will add your link to my first post, we will have a fleet soon Cool

I understand that supply can not meet demand at the moment for the MK1 upgrade.

That makes sense there have been some very positive reviews of it and I suspect everyone's getting tired of waiting for anyone else to produce anything. It's worth the wait and it won't be long before you're cutting the 3 tabs on the minute Grab Handles and bending the 2 mounting feet on all 350 of them.LOL LOL

I have this idea that won't go away, of doing a Fairey Swordfish to go with this build. I'm thinking the Tamiya 1/42 with all the Eduard PE. It would be a kind of David and Goliath build. Anyone got any experience of this kit?
I've just finished reading 'Killing the Bismarck' and I am inspired by the craziness of those Stringbags taking on the Bismarck and that one Torpedo that decided the fate of so many men and ships.

I have built that kit and it is really good straight from the box I also have the Tamiya expert build guide for it that you can have if you decide to build it. The company that used to make them make military bridges now I used to work for them and my office was in the old doping shop!!

Not exactly 'Off and Running' on this one, more like thinking about getting up and going for a strollLOL LOL . The Kit was a Birthday present and I'm really waiting to finish the X-Section before making a start, plus we are Lambing at the moment. So I have done a little work on the Hull, but that'll be it for a few weeks yet. I've started the Diary for discussion purposes and ideas as I have been doing research etc. Well that's the plan anyway.Blink Bored Confused

My other reading/research material at the moment is

Killing the Bismarck; Not a bad read but a little too one sided for my liking and the Maps are poor.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Killing...id=1363533035&sr=8-1

German Capital Ships; About 100 good pictures of the Bismarck, plus text and of course lots of other ships too.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/German-...id=1363533272&sr=1-1

Ballards Discovery of the Bismarck; Can be found 2nd hand for next to nothing, some good pics of the wreck but some are artists impressions.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Dis...3533894&sr=1-1-spell

Kagero's Super Drawings; Fantastic for all that superstructure detail.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bismarc...id=1363533556&sr=1-1

I'm also probably going to get this too,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AK-Inte...id=1363533677&sr=8-1

So a little light Bedtime reading thereBlink Bored

Mmmm.. lighting, I've just seen another build where the Spotlights are working and it looks pretty neat. I might go for that, as it did cross my mind some time ago.
