Things not going great at McLaren..
Button, he has told his team he cannot win a single race based on the car they have given him for this season — unless they make radical changes.
Things are so bad that Whitmarsh has refused to rule out brining last year’s car out of retirement!

No wonder Hamilton was so happy with his car! I bet there are quite a few people out there being rather quiet about his move now!

Looks like McLaren are also being blamed for Webber's exit as a result of an ECU glitch, which developed on the warm-up lap, wrecked his start, and also meant that he drove without telemetry or KERS for the early part of the race.
Apparently its not the first time that the McLaren supplied ECU has faced criticism this year, during pre-season testing a number of teams expressed their unhappiness with the unit, which is supplied by McLaren Electronics Systems (MES), a subsidiary of McLaren.

Autosport reported that the ECU's are a new specification this season as part of the transition to the new 2014 turbo engine rules. McLaren also said that Webber's problem was in the garage and not a faulty ECU.
Cheers

Clearly there were problems with the telemetry, as race director Charlie Whiting commented that he was unable to automatically disable the DRS systems on the cars, and the telemetry failure meant that among other things, cockpit warning lights were not working meaning that drivers had to rely on the flag marshals.
Sounds like it could be ECU teething troubles..

Totally agree! Completely disagree with people who call Hamilton a brat! Button has been the one always moaning about something ruining his race. Even though Lewis was a live wire and prone to go all guns blazing he still got the job done more often with less complaining! They're all a bit pre-Madonna ish! Vettel showed his true colours early last year and Alonso almost destroyed his career with McLaren. Not to mention the crash scandal which he apparently knew nothing about! All in all, they're much the same but we all have our preferences! I'd like to think mine (Lewis) is based on talent!

I totally agree with only1ianuk. Lets not forget Lewis has given Mclaren 14 years of his life how many other drivers get past 2 or 3 years so I hardly think he is jumping ship. He wasnt to know the new car was going to be this bad, in fact up until the second round of testing everyone thought this was a good car and Mclaren had got it right. Lewis has moved on, just as most of the other drivers on the grid do from time to time, and on the subject of calling him a brat....there are far worse drivers out there who throw their teddy in the corner if their team mate dares to out drive them. Dont forget, he took a massive gamble by moving to Mercedes, he could have waited for a ferrari or Red Bull seat to come available next year but he chose to move to a lesser team with a greater challenge. Maybe some of you doubters should cut him a little slack.

Why is it that any time that Hamilton or Button get mentioned in a thread / artical it turns into a bashing? I understand some people don't like Hamilton, and I understand some people don't like Button But what people need to appreciate is that they are both different drivers with different styles and levels of experience Both have had outstanding drives in the past, and no doubt will again this season, people saying Button has no talent or that he doesn't extract anything from the car is utter rubbish Just because you don't like him, doesn't mean you can't recognise when he's had an amazing race, he doesn't do it all the time but when he does it's different gravy I thought they made a great partnership and for one am gutted they are not on the same team any more as I felt their 2 different styles complimented each other and it meant Mclaren would always have at least 1 of their drivers in the high points It's not just on here though, the comments on any BBC news post is the same, it really is almost like you have to be one or the other, which is a shame because as Brit's we should be backing both! I have no doubt this season is going to be as exciting as last, just in different ways Roll on Malaysia Let's just hope Perez doesn't let the side down!

Ecclestone has revealed today that Hamilton was so keen to quit McLaren that he even considered taking a break from F1..

It does make you wonder if he hadn't got a drive this year whether he would have quit....and imagine how hapyy he would have been after that last showing for Mclaren
