Hi All Since struggling with my build from the off, and realising I didn't have the skills to complete it to the standard of the builds I have seen on this forum, of which there are many fantastic end-results, I decided to ask for help Many of you will be familiar with Warthog's build diary and marvelled at the skill that has gone into it, because of this I decided to PM him and ask if he could help Spencer was more than happy to take on my build at a very reasonable fee, and so last Saturday I collected my Mclaren The finish is superb, and the work he has put into it deserves an award in my opinion I was lucky enough to view his build in the flesh, which, goes without saying, was awesome I drooled over his Senna tribute conversion which is almost finished, and I for one think this superb conversion is definitely one of a kind, and showcases the skill of the man All I can say is "Thank you Spencer for saving my bacon!" I am more than pleased with the end result If any of you out there are in my position, struggling to achieve a model, in view of what you are paying for it, at the standard it deserves for such a detailed kit, don't despair. PM Warthog for advice, or indeed if you would like him to take charge and build your Mclaren for you, to an exacting standard, I am sure he would be more than happy to help When and if we get the Senna Marlboro Mclaren 1:8 model, I will definitely be requesting Spencers help again to ensure I will end up with a perfect model As a foot-note I want to thank De-Agostini for producing this fantastic model and urge them to release Senna's car ASAP! Thanks again Spencer, and all the best Andy

Well what can I say apart from a big thankyou back to Andy for giving me the task of building his McLaren.. when you invest so much money, even over time it can be a tough decision to make to hand over everything to a relative stranger..I had a great time building it as with the others. So once again, thankyou Andy for your trust and as I said on Saturday, I look forward to assisting you again in the future and a great pleasure to meet you. Spencer And here she is: Warthog attached the following image(s):

Great job Spencer. Could i ask what you used for the finish? Spray or Klear polish? Also the little black dots on the panels look well.Where these done with a fine tip marker or decals? Cheers.

A nice clean build Spencer and well done you for helping the guy out. I know you got paid for building it but nice to know that less experienced builders can still have the model that they want because of your willingness to help out and do the building for them - a very honourable thing to do and you should be commended for doing it - well done!!
Also, well said Karl!!

Well done spence, it's just what this site was mention to do and that is to help each other, just had to be you to take it to a new level. Your build is stunning and the guy is lucky to have you as a master builder build it for him. I take my hat off for you there isn't many people like you around anymore( mores the pity). Keep the builds coming, I think you are going to very busy from now on. Builds in progress: HMS Victory.HMS Surprise. Completed builds: Revell London Bus 1/24. Builds to do:Sovereign of the seas, Hms Albion.

I have my little elves on standby Kind words by everyone and thanks but as Petpole say's it's all about helping others for what I see as a fading hobbie..if I can help in any way then I will do my best as will others on this forum in other sections doing the same.. As Karl say's it's companies like DeaG that are doing a fantastic job in a difficult market.
