Thanks for compiling the list Cool . Some great articles and, by the sound of things, good reference books to get hold of.

One of the great things about modelmaking is the way that one can painlessly acquire all manner of knowledge about subjects one might never have found out about otherwise.

We are supremely fortunate that HMS Victory was preserved for previous and future generations to enjoy.

Just to keep the important post up near the top here is a Russian model maker named Evgeniy Yepur, the link to the gallery is here -

Just sublime, no words are quite good enough, probaly just as good as Longridges Victory.

What I love about it apart from the obvious is the choise of wood, rich and warm, but just look at the planking, jeez!

Cool Drool Drool Drool Interesting zig zag planking detail in the black part of the bows. Was our friend having problems, or is it on the original. If so I wonder why?LOL

got hold of some new books today, thought it maybe of interest to your build.

The Art of Rigging by George Biddlecombe

priced at £5 from the book depository, this book was originaly published in a form around 1794, then in the form that it is now in 1925, it is divided into 5 parts and contains some great line drawing of the subject of rigging (thats where I am now)to be honest for a fiver its well worth it.

The Arts of the Sailor (Knotting, Splicing and Ropework) by Hervey Garret Smith

Again priced at £5 and originaly published in 1953 this shows pretty much what the title says, knots and splicing. Well worth the money, both book came with free delivery.
