I agree, I have had this book since the early days of the Halifax build and there is a lot of useful information in it.

I'm also making my first wooden model ship, we're in at the deep end! and any good books like this is great I also went for this book. Another good one for beginners is Ship Modeling From Stem To Stern by Milton Roth.
