Former F1 driver John Watson in urging Christian Horner to ban Vettel for one race in light of the Malayasian GP Webber incident. Saying on BBC Radio 4...
"The only purposeful way to bring him to book is to say: 'You will stand out one race'.
I know that if other drivers in other teams disobeyed a team order they would be suspended or even fired!
If Christian Horner doesn't reassert his authority in the team, because he has been totally subjugated by Sebastian Vettel, then his position in the team is not exactly the role it is designed to be. The only conclusion I can reach is that Vettel should be suspended for the next grand prix.
You can't take the points away from him and give them to Mark Webber, that's now history and Sebastian has the benefit of those seven additional points. You can't really fine him, it is almost irrelevant to fine him, so the only purposeful way to bring him to book is to say: 'You will stand out one race'."

Christian Horner has not got the bottle to ban his sunshine boy,like schumaker before him,the team principal won't dare ban their goldenballs,lose too much bread for the whole team,me thinks webber should get on his very expensive mountain bike,and head for the hills,he won't be allowed to interfere with his team leader, The only good thing to come out of it,is that team orders were put aside,but webber should have tried a little harder to stay in front at an earlier stage.team orders are a no no it undermine everything good about f1 racing. k. I've never been a fan of team orders, it certainly does take the racing element away from the fans But look at all the coverage F1 is now getting on the news, radio, newspapers! It certainly has got the world medias attention Was Vettel right to overtake Webber? Was Rosberg right to stay behind Hamilton? No doubt there's plenty of arguments to be had for both sides of the coin But in my mind, Webber shouldn't have been told to turn his engine settings down and to let him defend his position, which I think he could have And Rosberg should have been giving permission to fight Hamilton for 3rd place, towards the end of the race Rosberg could've easily taken him with all the fuel saving going on Was we robbed of an epic finish to the race? Maybe, but then we wouldn't have all the controversy we have now!

If the team orders were to hold their position then vettel cheated, because of the fact that webber was driving conservatively not thinking he would have to defend, vettel basically did a sneaky. Another point I find very comical is when a racing driver calls his team to say the driver thats beating me in front is very slow

With the millions of dollars at stake from sponsors who want race results and chamionship points, you can understand why team orders are in place to avoid the risk of team mates taking each other out.
Mclaren on the other hand should have let rosberg pass. Did they even ask Lewis if that would be okay? From the sounds of Lewis's reaction on the podium i think he would have understood the situation and let him pass. No risk with teammates colliding and still the same number of points as far as the team is concerned, with the possibity of even more points if Rosberg was able to chase down the red bulls.
Yes, we all like to watch racing but you have to understand what is at risk when racing against teammates. Besides, Horner said they do allow racing up until the last pitstop.
Dont blame red bull for the team ordes, blame the other teams for not being competitive enough to challenge them (in that particular race)

I think you mean Mercedes  A race ban for Seb is far too harsh, why would the team want to wreck the chances of a quad double? Sebastian is a racer, you can't tell someone to hold position who wants to win, and win his 4th title in as many years, I'm disappointed with how he did it, but at the end of the day what's happened has happened. As for the Webber is going to quit rumour, no he won't, I'm fairly sure the team will repay the favour later down the line, just like at Brazil 2011 when Vettel had a "gearbox problem" he didn't, they just wanted to give Mark a win. There's 17 more races where Webber can win, it's not the end of the world that Seb didn't follow instructions, however, he does regret it given his interviews since then, it's all in the past now though.
