magpie, this is not criticism,I believethe standing rigging was tarred black, also I make my mouse from blue tack, then wrap line around it then thread a needle through it.then superglue the wrap. dunno if this helps? also try dying the blocks dark brown or black. good luck. Thanks for comments, I just found a build of my san fran and yes it is black thread, I don't know where I saw white. lol. Will paint the ones I have done black, And do rest in black. I tried making the mouse from milliput but couldn't wait for it to harden. So I made it from liquid metal for cars, abit like milliput but goes off in 10 minutes. I made shape then drilled middle out. Thanks Chris... On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Hi there, you mentioned liquid metal for cars in your posting, never heard of it before? what kind of material is it, how is it formed, and how can I obtain it, sounds ideal for a few alterations I want to make on my Cutty Sark build..much obliged. John.. Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Hi Johnny, I got it from my local motor spares shop. It's called Quiksteel. You get one stick of material, cut off what you need and kneed it until both colours have mixed together. Then shape it. Once set solid its as strong as metal. Main uses are for cracked heads and blocks on car engines, but I needed a quick set time. Don't know haw it would stick to wood. but if made up to shape then super glue it to whatever needed. Good for making mouldings quickly. http://www.demon-tweeks...._QuikSteel/1253/0/16437
Just my opinion, Thanks Chris... On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.
