I'm having trouble twisting planks for the final strip at the keel. I am using a plank bender. How exactly do you use them to get a big twist and do you have any recommendations on any other more efficient ways to do it?

Hi Rob I prefer to soak the plank for 30 mins then fit it damp to the ship let it dry for 24 hours, take it off, and you will find it has dried to the shape you require, then fix it with adhesive. ( please make sure you drill the holes before you pin it )

You can see how I do it in my build diaryBigGrin Happy Easter Mike

If you use your nipper at an angle rather than straight across the plank, you can induce a twist in the direction of the angle slope, and the closer the nips the tighter the twist on the same way as when plank bending.
