Not a chance in h#ll. The whole mess with the cut-away section of the victory has created a massive lack of credibility in part work models for me. The TV ads look great, but when it comes time to deliver, only the bare essentials are given, all the other advertised/shown items (stand, figurines, copper tiling) are extra.

Hi Hans, I too have decided to take the plunge. I placed my order yesterday. I am going the Jacklin rout this time rather than CNA - hope it turns out well? Unfortunately the Victory will have to be completed first, before I start SOTS. CAN'T WAIT!!! Kind regards, Garth "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Looking at the DVD, there were a lot of elements that one would assume that would have been part of the build. While I'm happy with the quality of the build, the customer experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi Garth Glad to hear it. I have not had too many hassles with Jaclin other than they are almost 4-6 weeks behind CNA. I have gone the CNA route with the VIctory cross section, so far so good. It's more a frustration with the postal system. How are you doing with the Victory?? How about a few pics Rgds, Hans "It's okay to make mistakes. mistakes are our teachers - they help us to to learn, even if it is painfully" Current Build: Endeavour Cross section,D51 Completed: HMS Victory Under the bench: Endeavour x 2,Sovereign of the Seas, Akagi and The Black Pearl!HMS Victory Cross Section

Thanks Mike, I've slowly been building up enough courage to continue with the cleaning of the copper tiles. The next challenge for me will be closing the cut-out section.

Must agree with you there Stefan. I am also trying to think of ways to close or come up with something for the cutaway section. Will see as I progress with the rest of the ship. Maybe by that time something will be forthcoming from Deag. Good luck with your cleaning and continue building, you are not alone as I am sure you have realised. It is still worth completing then build. Kind regards,
Garth Good idea to go with the Jacklin route. With CNA there are no free gifts. (that's what the lady at CNA told me). And with the SOTS, the free gifts really makes it worth it. The only problem with Jacklin is the post office. Not really reliable. I am building the; Victory (Corel) Endeavour (Eaglemoss) And ordered the SOTS. Andre

The next challenge for me will be closing the cut-out section. Hi Stefan closing the cut-out section is not as bad as it seems, I never did it in the first place, but I am double planking using 1mm x 5mm walnut, maybe you could do the same when you have closed it up, the double planking also gives you a recess around the gun ports. Kind regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Kobus, welcome aboard. You are in the right place for all the help you need. There are many expert builders that offer a range of advice. I think most of us have gone the Jacklin route. I spoke to them yesterday and apparently issue 1&2 are due to be shipped on Friday 26 April with an expected 14-28 day delivery time frame depending on where and if our wonderful postal service is not on strike. Thanks Hans. I've bought issues 1-3 from the CNA and placed my order with Jacklin from issue 4. Can't wait for that delivery! Kobus
