Deck fittings for Bow Area, Vent Pipes, Intakes etc. The PE is a mix of Trumpeter, Eduard and MK1 Design. Some parts are provided by only one manufacturer, some by just 2 or even all 3 in which case I am choosing the best looking. Part Count 363 and I've barely started.

Hi Andy, Incredible detail. May I ask where you purchase your brass etch kits as I`m looking to do a 1:35 Hummer( can`t afford the RC one at moment)but can`t find an etch kit for it anywhere. Will carry on watching your build, can`t wait for next post WTG. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Andy Looking good, just a minor point while you have time to rectify one of you front facing bow intakes (the one with the rectangular grill) i think has the shutter the wrong way around, should be mounted at the front like the other intake. Hope you don't mind me spotting that. Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Hope you don't mind me spotting that. Jase No that's absolutely fine, Jase. Is that Trumpeter D21? The Trumpeter instructions show them both opening that way (that is hinged from the upper edge) and it looked like the MK1 instructions showed D21 opening that way too. Obviously with the D32 intake and the MK1 etch it can only open from the front edge as it's non-symmetrical and one part unlike the Trumpeter 2 part etch. That's unfortunate as I don't think it's going to come out without damage. Might have to be a secret mistake that only I (and the whole of Model Space ) know about. I'm not the only one either, see Feb 20th post. http://modelshipwrights.kitmake...pic_id=203197&page=1

So I thought who cares, then I thought I do. Thanks to Jase for pointing out the error of my ways , and with a little thought it's obvious that these vents would open this way to avoid Seawater ingress. So despite Trumpeter, MK1 and the Kagero Book all getting it wrong. Mine's now correct, with the help of some very hot water

Today I am moving the Bismarck off the Bench and into 'Dry-dock'. There are just too many unresolved issues with suppliers, future releases etc. for me to have a clear view of where the build is going. It looks as though it's going to be mid-June before a lot of these pan out.

Bismarck Updates. 1) Eduard have today released another 3 sets of PE, AA Guns, Officers and Structural Railings. The AA Guns add another 240 or so, additional pieces of detail to the Guns over and above the MK1 Set, plus replace some of the Plastic . So this is going to be a must have for me. The structural Railings are pretty much the same as the MK1 with one or two additions and differences. 2) Asmussen's Definitive Tome on the Bismarck has been put back for another month and is now promised for the 11th June . 3) Pontos have revealed their Super Detail set and it is now available for pre-order at about $180 , but they are now promising a further Advanced Set on top of this . The Masts and Jack Staffs look fantastic, plus they have such things as the missing Anchor Cluse Hoops and the retaining Bars at the Stem.
