Thanks Nigel. read your post and makes sense. guess being new to this type of modelling, the assumption is lazer cut computer aided design should give us the right bits. Lesson learnt and i will correct during filling and sanding and also will be more vigilant as the build goes on.
Again this Forum is fantastic for me as a beginner. I appreciate any advice,

Cheers

Nice work and great result. The sharp edges are well finished and give good effects. The quality wood increase the results and sharpness.

My build was interupted while i had to fit a new bathroom. all done now and back on the build. ive just started sanding down the hull. As this is my first build 1 definatley now understand why its so importand to get everything pefect before planking. Light arm and shoulder taken all they can for today so i will be back on it tomorrow. Ill post some pics when its all done.

ive now rough sanded the hull and used a bit of filler to smooth out the dent towards the eft end. i missed this and had planked the hull before realising there was a floor in one of the frames. anyway looks a lot smoother now. Im going to mark off the gun ports next. tricky bit by all accounts.

cheers

Hi Stu,BigGrin

That`s looking really good, I think a few people have the same problem with the dip to the stern (me included)but not a major problem to cure.

For a first sanding your hull looks really good. With respect to the gun ports (not marked mine yet) it seems that to check it a couple of times before you cut seems to be the way to go.

Also check out Mr T`s official build as there is a slight adjustment to the position of one port to be taken into account.

Good luck and happy building Cool

Lovely work there StuJue, hull looks spot on....BigGrin BigGrin .. Take your time over the marking of the ports and double even triple check all measurements... BigGrin BigGrin .. Derek is absolutely correct, there is a couple of ports that some feel are wrong on the instructions so would suggest you check the official build and other diaries too..... I desided to move the ports on my build... BigGrin BigGrin .. Keep up the good work and keep posting.....Cool

Regards

Alan
