BigGrin Hi Alan
Looking good there, as for the mistake with the ruler I think at some time or other we have all done it, plus no real harm done as you say all can be rectified with the secondary planking hiding anything
regards
AndyCool

Thank Andy, I don't feel so bad now knowing others have made the same mistake... LOL LOL .. Just carelessness on my part, think my eyes were getting a little tired by that time.... that's my excuse.... LOL LOL .. Tomorrow will get down to cutting the top of the hull to the required profile and then move onto the other side..... Cool Cool .... Thanks again....

Hi Alan,BigGrin

Sorry to here you have a problem. but as you say it can be rectified at a later stage in the build and with your expertise I`m sure that will be the case.

Chin up and keep on with an inspiring build.

Thanks Derek, appreciate your support... The problem has already been rectified, I lowered the two ports in question by 2mm and added a correcting strip to the top of the port.. once the second layer is on the repair won't be seen.... Cool Cool ..

Thanks again....

Alan

She's looking mighty fine AlanBigGrin BigGrin .Don't sweat about the ports I got two wrong on mine.Realised when I cut the other side and things didn't line up.Glued a strip in and opened the other side out.Its an easy fix that will be long forgotten as your build moves on.
Kind Regards Nigel

Hi Alan at the end of the day, we all make mistakes, we are human, it is how we rectify them that is important, and how we learn from what we have done.

I always say modelling is a journey not a destination, but as far as I can see your build is fantastic you are doing a top job you should be proud of what you have achievedBigGrin Kind regards Mike

looks great alan, i also made a couple mistakes, kept forgetting to take into account the 5mm line, also put some of the ports 1mm lower but changed my mind, but the great thing with working with wood is that sometimes you can always fill the gap by adding more wood glued in placeBigGrin

Hi Alan
So you're Human too huh!BigGrin Been there and done that! The problem is I tend to work in both metric and imperial at the same time, using whichever one comes closest to the bit I'm measuring! Shouldn't really do it I know but haven't had too many mistakes. Blink
At least we didn't send a probe to Mars and forgot which measurement system we were using!!!LOL

Best of luck

Thanks Mike... am just a little annoyed at myself for making such a silly error... Mad Mad .. The learning point I took from this is no matter how careful and precise you think you are mistakes can still be made..... but I agree with you wholeheartedly, it's not the mistake that's important it is how it is rectified and I believe all mistakes on building can be rectified... Cool Cool .. Thanks again for your kind words and continued support..... BigGrin BigGrin

Hey Alan, you don't need to be human to model, but it sure helps especially when you look back with a chuckle, when that was the least of your challenges.

Hi Alan,
It's great to be honest and up front about your mistakes, I suspect that not everyone is, as I think it is a great help to beginners with less confidence, who can observe that we all mess up occasionally and that these things are usually correctable.
I find it's one of the more satisfying aspects of building, correcting errors that is, but maybe I'm just oddBlushing Blushing LOL
