Well, I've searched and searched, it's obviously something to do with Indianapolis Speedway during the Great Depression, but can't find a link from that to anything F1!!

I give up Karl, you've beaten me and I suspect the rest so would you like to take the top step on the podium and give us another question?

Well done mate, consider yourself unbeaten!!

In 1993 a certain development was tested at Silverstone on a very wet track but still gave a 2 second a lap improvement.

1 What was the development?
2 What car was it?
3 Who tested it?
4 How did the FIA deal with it?

1. Traction Control
2. McLaren Mp4/8
3. Ayrton Senna (Top Bloke - IMHO!!)
4. The FIA couldn't find a way to effectively police the electronic trickery, so they made it legal for everyone

Spot on that man!!!BigGrin BigGrin
They stipulated that, from 1994, F1 cars had to have between four and seven fixed gears – and for good measure added a sub-clause specifically banning CVTBigGrin BigGrin

The quizzes seem to have been forgotten lately and it doesn't look as if David is coming back so I'll throw the opportunity back to Daran to ask another question?

Over to you then Daran?

Would that be the Brabham BT 46/B?
It had a cooling fan fitted to the top of the bodywork so that the front elevation of the car could be narrowed, but because of the way the ducting was designed & the use of a skirt it actually sucked the car down into the ground more or less a reverse hovercraft. It created one hell of a row when it saw the light of day in Sweden in 1977

Awaiting your response Daran? Glare

David, I am sorry you didn't get to ask a question, but the rules in post #1 explain what happens when a member doesn't follow up any questions or answers that they have posted? We need to keep the quizzes moving otherwise they will die and unfortunately I had to open the floor for someone else to set a question when you didn't respond. Please feel free to try again should you get an answer to any question right in the future? We are just waiting on Daran to respond to the question that he set last time.
