Thats lovely work Mike .We may end up with different models at the finish line, but they are our own interpretation and I think thats what will make us both very happy with the final result.I really do like those cannons, are they caldercraft? Kind Regards Nigel

Nice Work Mike By the way they don't make that Colour 'Scab Red' anymore, the replacement in the new colours is 'Khorne Red', but I don't think it's an exact match. A few places still have some stock of the old colours, so it may be worth buying some whilst they are available.

Mike, superb work... love it all but am especially drawn to the idea of treenailing the hull and thinking I will probably include that in my build. Have also decided I am going to install gun ports at the stern.... .. Thanks for the heads up and know you are going to finish with a superb build.... Very well done.... Regards Alan

Kind Regards Nigel Hi Nigel I agree with you If we are all pleased with our builds, and they are our own interpretation we will be over the moon. The cannons I had made for the Victory they represent the 24 pound dummy cannons for the middledeck as the cannons supplied are 12 pound, this was the last enhancement I did, completing a total of 14 enhancements, the jewel in the crown being the Gallery Enhancement. I have also had enhancements produced for the Sots. 13 GUN PORT (first deck) I have just been reading my Sovereign of the seas by James Sephton, and what a great source of information it is On many of the illustrations it shows there may have been 13 gun ports on the lower deck --- Sergals model shows it to be there, also Culvers model is showing it. I have decided to fit this gun port on my model, it will sit just behind rib 2, this will not interfere with the stem or involve me in any major changes on the model going forward. Kind regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

This is an awkward one Mike,as you have it in your photo it will foul the prow.I was think of making the center of the port in the center if bulkhead two and then altering the angle of the prow edge so it just misses the top corner similar to what sergal have done. Kind Regards Nigel

Kind Regards Nigel Hi Nigel, I am going to go for this position all the photos I have seen suggest the gun port is forward of rib 2 even Sergal`s however I think having a closed gun port is a good idea, it gives light and shade to the build, and will not interfere in my opinion to the bow or prow stem Kind regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Nicely pointed out Mike, thanks for that... Would suggest you take a look at the Italian forum around issue 43, this may have a bearing on what you are trying to achieve in adding the additional port at the bow and what will need to be modified further in on the build.... Can't post an image as I don't have permission from the copyright holder... Hope it helps. Regards Alan
