Hi folks!
Does anyone know the diameter of the base of the mizzen mast?
The hole in my lower deck is 8mm and a perfect fit with an 8mm drill-bit - but the housing in the keel assembly is 7.5mm.
I don't have this problem with the mainmast as the hole and housing are both 10mm and my drill bit fits down perfectly.
If the mizzen will be supplied at 8mm, I need to widen the keel housing now, while I can still get at it. If it is 7.5mm, then I will leave it as it is, to get a tight glue joint when the mast goes in.

I don't think even the Italian site has got that far, but its where you will likely pick up the info first..

Hi Capt,
The true scale size is 7.5mm going by reference material, but I doubt the manufacturer would deviate from the standard size of 8mm for half a mm.If you leave as is and just keep in mind later in the build you can always sand the end of the mast down before fitting. That way you have both sizes covered.
Kind Regards Nigel

Thanks Guys!
Nigel, that's more or less what I was thinking.
I just need to note down somewhere the depth of the mast housing below the deck, so I will know if it is going down fully into the socket when the time comes. The fitting will be invisible by that stage.
